ASSORTED QUIPS AND QUOTES FROM THE MUSIC PRESS

Hits Magazine - September 1998

"Of the many Seattle bands, past and present, Second Coming could be the greatest of all. Yes, even when measure against the like of Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, Temple of The Dog and Pearl Jam, there's something special here. This major label debut is packed with an energy that's been fairly absent in music recently. There's a definite sonic BOOM on potential hits like "Soft, " "Travisty" and "Confessional," while the melodic overtones of cuts like "The Song" are commanding as they show off the band's knack for evoking mood and atmosphere. With an undeniably huge beat of arena-sized proportions, the recording is clean and heavy. Unless you’re using a pace-maker theses days, Second Coming WILL blow you away..."

Second Coming (Timestyle)

So you thought Seattle's rock scene was dead and gone? Ha! With former Sweetwater guitarist Dudley Taft, and the amazingly, powerful vocals of Travis Bracht, Second Coming's second album is hands down the strongest rock album outta Seattle in years. Mind you, their sound - complete with Led Zeppelin/Alice in Chains-like overtones - is nothing new. But their melting pot of everything cool from the late 90's rock world, mixed with strong writing and convincing vocals, give their songs the one-two punch. From the acoustically orchestrated "The Song" and sampled, swooshing beats of "Tonight, The Goodnight King" to the Greek-influenced epic of "Afilotimi," Second Coming has some of the best rock songs you're gonna hear in 1998.

The addition of Travis on vocals and Dudley on guitar has taken Second Coming to new heights. Their music is moving, the critically acclaimed album is strong! Second Coming is the strongest thing to come out of Seattle in '97. Bar none! - Cathy Faulkner, Music Director, KISW

"Second Coming will undoubtably be one of the best new releases of 98! These guys are destined for greatness." Greg Sorrels - The Album Network Jan '98

"Usually it takes me a while to get used to a CD and then it grows on me (Second Coming's self-titled sophomore release), but I immediately liked this album. Second Coming is a seriously good band. My favorite tracks off the album are "Travisty," "Vintage Eyes," "Free," and "Affilotimi." No fancy tricks, just intelligent lyrics set to heavy-hitting music." - Jean Wen, The Mirror Magazine/Seattle Times - Dec. '97

"Their new self-titled CD, released this year, follows in the footsteps of the first. With brooding emotions and maelstrom enery, it tours through topics of child neglect, broken love and everyday life." - Winda Benedetti, The Spokesman Review - Dec '97

"Chugging guitars, a few low-fi ballads, some sampled textures all contribute, for a lack of a better term, some of the coolest post-grunge sounds around." - Nick Heil, The Inlander, Spokane, E. Wash., Idaho.

There is some nice quiet guitar work, a string quartet on one song and some spooky chanting on another." - Eric Berry, Insite Magazine - Dec '97

"Second Coming is a heavy, hard-hitting record...." - Gene Stout, Seattle Post Intelligencer

"Second Coming was Spectacular!" - Anna Kelly, KISW, refering to Aug.1997 Pain in the Grass Concert

"Undoubtably my favorite band in Seattle!" - Vivian McPeak, Hemp Fest Coordinator - Aug 1997

"On Second Coming you'll hear a band who's sound has matured immensley. It's a tremendous collection of great sounds and songs -- a well thought out, well produced record that shows the diversity and talent of this quartet," - Opinion Online Magazine, Oct '97
